Phuket – White Beaches Non-Stop

As Thailand’s largest island, Phuket’s beaches attract thousands of tourists every year. Many visitors will often make a beeline for its best known beach – Patong Beach.

While Patong is an excellent beach with many positives going for it, there are several other excellent beaches that are far less crowded. Some of Phuket’s top beaches include:

  • Patong – White sands and warm waters make this beach facing the Andaman Ocean a sight to behold. But as previously stated, Patong is by far the most crowded beach in Phuket with visitor numbers still high even during the low season. Of course, there are advantages to having to cater to such a sea of humanity – from exclusive hotels to up market shopping area, any important product or service you need is within easy reach.
  • Surin – The best known beach in North Phuket, Surin has managed to retain a calm, relaxed ambience despite the extensive infrastructural development currently taking place. It is a smaller and less crowded beach compared to Patong. If you are looking for a lively nightlife and broad shopping options, Surin is probably not the place for you.
  • Kamala – Kamala Beach is right next to Patong and bears a physical resemblance to it. The difference is Kamala sees far less tourists and is more family oriented devoid of the heavy partying that characterizes Patong. Hotels are on average more sophisticated than those in Patong so prepare to pay more for accommodation.
